Maverick Raises Pay for Flatbed Over-the-Road Drivers

Student Flatbed Drivers Will Start at 59 Cents Per Mile After May 31 Changes; Experienced Drivers to Start at 63 to 67 Cents

Maverick Transportation on May 13 said that its flatbed over-the-road drivers will receive a 4-cents-per-mile pay increase effective May 31.

The increase will raise starting pay for student flatbed drivers to 59 cents per mile, with first-year average earnings of $73,000 to $80,000, according to the company. Experienced drivers will earn 63 to 67 cents per mile, with first-year average earnings of $84,000 to $96,000.

“We are truly excited to roll out this pay increase for our drivers, who are the heart of our operations and the key to our success,” said Brad Vaughn, Maverick’s vice president of recruiting.

The company said more than 10 dedicated flatbed and glass divisions also will receive pay increases as part of the May 31 changes.



North Little Rock, Ark.-based Maverick ranks No. 75 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest for-hire carriers in North America.
