Allegheny County Airport Authority board members awarded $44 million in contracts Oct. 28 for the construction of a state-of-the-art cargo facility on Pittsburgh International property in Findlay.

Picture Pittsburgh 50 years from now with these transportation changes: a terminal in a central location to handle a hyperloop system, vehicles for vertical takeoffs and landings, and high-speed trains; aerial trams linking neighborhoods; and new bridges crossing the Monongahela River at Hazelwood for motorized vehicles and at the former Wabash rail bridge piers for bikes and pedestrians.

U.S. Steel Corp. said it expects to report a wider loss than analysts were expecting, the third American steelmaker in three days to warn on their outlook. The shares fell.

The U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded Pittsburgh more than $10.9 million in grant funding.
