Uber President Jill Hazelbaker is leaving the ride-hailing giant to lead communications at OpenAI, becoming the latest veteran executive to depart Uber this year.

Sarfraz Maredia, who has been with the company for more than 12 years, is leaving to pursue a top executive role at an undisclosed company outside of the transportation industry.

The acquisition will help better position Uber against rival DoorDash, the leading food-delivery platform in the U.S.
