Old Dominion Freight Line’s 3Q Income Dips

Less-than-truckload carrier Old Dominion Freight Line said Thursday its third-quarter profit declined slightly from a year ago.

The carrier’s net income dipped to $20 million or 54 cents a share, from $20.1 million or 54 cents in last year’s third quarter.

Revenue rose 8% to $363.3 million, ODFL said in a statement.

The company also lowered its outlook for its full-year earnings, setting  a new range of $1.92 to $1.95 per share, from a previous range of $2 to $2.05.



It set fourth-quarter guidance in a range of 41 cents to 44 cents a share.

Old Dominion Freight Line is ranked No. 20 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
