Minnesota Temporarily Waives HOS Rules

Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R) has issued an executive order temporarily lifting hours-of-service rules for truck drivers to deal with severe weather in the state, television station KIMT reported.

The order, allowing 15 straight hours to be followed by 10 hours of rest, is for drivers delivering heating oil or removing snow, the Iowa-based station said on its website.

The temporary waiver runs through Jan. 7, and drivers must have a copy of the order in their truck, KIMT said.
