Trucking Fleet IMC Names Joel Henry Its First CEO

Joel Henry is set to become the first CEO of marine drayage firm IMC Cos., the company announced May 30.
Henry has nearly two decades of experience with the company. During that time, he has led the IMCG brand through continual growth and expansion initiatives across the Southeast. He assumed his new role June 1.
Memphis, Tenn.-based IMC ranks No. 43 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest for-hire carriers in North America.
Henry’s promotion is part of efforts to consolidate under one brand, according to the company.

“Throughout his tenure, Joel has proven to be a humble, disciplined, growth-oriented and effective leader. I am confident in his abilities to take IMC to new horizons while staying true to our roots” Chairman Mark George said.

Henry will be responsible for customer service, operations, depot services, national sales, safety, rolling stock procurement and maintenance for chassis, lifts and trucks. He will report directly to George.
“Our success has proven that we are stronger together, and we look forward to continuing our legacy as one brand in 2023,” George said. “Trucks in the Southeast are already rolling out with the IMC placards on them, so we are excited to showcase our unity as we become one team — IMC.”
Chris Henley will take on Henry’s previous duties by becoming the new president of the Southeast region. Nick Payne will become the new executive vice president of drayage sales. Brian Kobza is joining the company as executive vice president of commercial and strategic sales. — Transport Topics
