Hyliion Holdings Corp. announced Jon Panzer joined the company as chief financial officer.

He succeeds Sherri Baker who, as of Sept. 8, was no longer with the company.

Prior to joining Hyliion, Panzer spent 26 years at Union Pacific Railroad Co., most recently as senior vice president of intermodal operations.

Union Pacific covers 23 Western states and noted it is the largest railroad in North America.

Panzer will oversee all aspects of Hyliion’s financial operations, including financial planning and analysis, accounting, treasury, tax and investor relations, according to the Austin, Texas-based company, a provider of electric powertrains for Class 8 commercial trucks.

“There is so much opportunity as we look ahead to transforming the transportation industry, and I am proud to be a part of an organization whose ambitious mission is reinforced by true innovation,” Panzer said in a release.

Baker was appointed to the post Feb. 8, 2021. She served as chief financial officer for PGT Innovations, a publicly traded, national manufacturer of premium windows and doors since March 2019 before joining Hyliion. — Transport Topics
