Temperature-controlled logistics provider East Coast Warehouse & Distribution has acquired Temp-Distribution of Maryland Inc.
East Coast Warehouse said the acquisition, announced Jan. 13, will allow it to leverage its port-based expertise as the company works to enter the Port of Baltimore and the Mid-Atlantic market. Temp-Distribution is a temperature-controlled transportation and warehousing provider located outside that port.
“Temp-Distribution is an exceptionally well-run and reputable transportation and warehousing provider that shares several common clients and industry verticals with our company,” East Coast Warehouse CEO Jamie Overley said in a statement. “This acquisition will allow us to further grow and develop our service offering, expand our geographic footprint further south, and consolidate and cultivate our existing Maryland-based businesses.”
East Coast Warehouse has headquarters in Elizabeth, N.J. Temp-Distribution will allow the company to strategically operate within a one-day drive of 80% of the national population.
“We look forward to both expanding our market presence and increasing our transportation and warehousing capabilities into a wider geographical footprint,” Overley said.
Temp-Distribution serves Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, West Virginia, Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. — Transport Topics
