Carrie Underwood, Florida Georgia Line Perform for Trucking Execs at Freightliner Dinner

AUSTIN, Texas — Country music superstars Carrie Underwood and Florida Georgia Line performed back-to-back sets at the legendary music venue Austin City Limits to cap off the 2018 Freightliner Trucks customer appreciation dinner.

Daimler Trucks North America, the manufacturer of Freightliner and Western Star trucks, hosted more than 1,200 guests here Oct. 29 at the annual event, held during American Trucking Associations’ Management Conference & Exhibition.

The pregnant Underwood performed hit songs such as “Jesus Take the Wheel,” “Before He Cheats” and “Blown Away” at the private concert for trucking industry executives in the city known as the live music capital of the world. Underwood, who rose to stardom after winning the fourth season of American Idol in 2005, has gone on to win numerous Grammy and Academy of Country Music awards.

Florida Georgia Line opened the evening’s entertainment with their unique brand of country music infused with elements of rock and hip-hop. Vocalists Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley performed hits including “Cruise” and “Meant to Be” for the invitation-only crowd.

In keeping with the tradition of the event, DTNA CEO Roger Nielsen revealed the identity of the evening’s performers only moments before they appeared on stage.

Previous editions of the annual Freightliner dinner have featured performances by artists such as the Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, the Eagles, Rod Stewart and Jason Aldean.
