After Utah lowered the legal limit for blood-alcohol concentration in drivers to 0.05, the number of alcohol-related fatalities dropped by about 20% and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is now recommending other states to follow suit. With the number of traffic accidents resulting in fatalities on the rise, all factors related to distracted or impaired driving need to be reviewed and new safety measures considered.
