Used Class 8 truck sales slipped 3.3% in May from a year earlier, but average pricing held steady, ACT Research reported.

Sales of used Class 8 vehicles declined in April for a fifth straight month on a year-over-year basis, ACT Research reported.

Sales of used Class 8 trucks in March reached their highest level since October despite coming in 18.2% short of the sales volume reached in March last year, ACT Research reported.

Used Class 8 truck sales in February rose from the previous month, but were still down 9.5% year-over-year as limited used inventories continued to hold back sales, ACT Research reported.

Sales of used Class 8 vehicles slipped 3.1% in January from the same month last year as limited inventories and economic concerns put a damper on purchases, ACT Research reported.

Schneider National said it has started selling its used fleet trucks that have just come off the road, most in the 2005 through 2007 model years.

Used heavy-duty truck prices softened in October at the same time the average mileage of used tractors climbed to an all-time high, ACT Research said last week.

Used truck prices continued to rise in August while low-mileage inventory remained scarce at many dealerships, according to ACT Research and American Truck Dealers.

With low-mileage used Class 8 trucks increasingly difficult to find, sales declined in July, ACT Research and dealers said.
