Uber Technologies issued a bookings outlook that just met analyst estimates and said fierce competition in the key Brazil market weighed on trips volume.

Waymo is exploring options to exit its robotaxi partnership with Uber Technologies Inc., the Financial Times reported.

Uber Technologies said it has wound down its robotaxi offering with Alphabet's Waymo in Phoenix, the latest relationship twist between two companies.

Waymo is planning to offer its driverless robotaxis in Germany, the latest move by the Alphabet unit to expand outside the U.S.

Waymo vehicles failed to recognize freeway construction zones in 13 instances in Phoenix and San Francisco in April and May, according to a June 17 filing with NHTSA.

The move is a step toward Uber challenging Alphabet’s Waymo, which has also been a partner of the ride-hailer.

Waymo Premier includes priority pickups, 10% cash back on every trip in the form of ride credits, early access to Waymo in new cities and up to five free cancellations per month.

The changes come three weeks after Jill Hazelbaker was promoted to the expanded role of president and chief corporate affairs officer.

In addition to building infrastructure for autonomous and ride-hail vehicles, the new company “expects to explore adjacent opportunities.” 

Waymo is recalling thousands of robotaxis to fix a software issue that could cause the autonomous vehicles to drive on flooded roads.
