XRG Names Second New CEO in a Year

ruckload and logistics firm XRG Inc. said Wednesday it has appointed Eddie Brown as its new chief executive officer, effective immediately.

He becomes the second CEO named in the past year to the company; last April, XRG named Richard Francis its top post. (Click here for previous coverage.)

XRG said it was continuing its restructuring strategy of transitioning from an asset-based carrier to a non-asset based carrier,



Brown brings more than 35 years of trucking industry experience to the position.

He is the co-founder and CEO of Highway Transport, Evergreen, Ala., a terminal which operates with XRG, and has served on XRG’s board of advisors since February 2005.

Brown also served as president of several divisions of Landstar System for eight years. Landstar also is a non-asset based carrier, and XRG said his experience there should help it emulate Landstar’s success.
