Xata Reports Fiscal 3Q Loss

Xata Corp. Thursday reported a fiscal third-quarter loss of $500,000, or 4 cents per share, compared with net income of $600,000, or 2 cents, a year ago.

Sales slipped to $17 million, from $18 million a year ago, the Minneapolis-based supplier of software and fleet management systems said in a statement.

Software revenue from its XataNet and Xata Turnpike systems rose 4% and 51%, respectively, Xata said.

Software revenue rose $400,000 to $11.4 million, but revenue from hardware systems and services fell to $5.6 million, from $6.3 million, the company said.
