UPS Expands International Express Service

UPS Inc. said Monday it is expanding an international air-freight service that guarantees delivery dates, as it leans more on global operations.

The service will be available to three times as many cities as before, a company spokeswoman told Bloomberg News.

The service now reaches 52 countries. Express Freight provides overnight to three-day delivery door to door to major cities worldwide, the company said.

In 2006, UPS’ international operations accounted for 28 percent of total revenue, an increase from 23 percent two years earlier, Bloomberg reported.

UPS is ranked No. 1 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
