Truckers Asked to Help Find Sick Child's Dog

Six-year-old Troy, a boy in the midst of battling cancer, has lost his will to live after the disappearance of his best friend, a beagle named Little Girl, say friends of his family. They have asked truck drivers to help find the dog.

Little Girl was last seen near Ardmore, Okla., in late July. A trucker may have picked up the dog on Interstate 40.
The nine-year-old beagle, who has been the boy’s inspiration during his illness, was left behind with grandparents in Dell City, Okla., in June when Troy and his family went out of town for the weekend. Little Girl got out of the house and tried to follow the family and has not returned.

The family believes the dog was struck by a vehicle on Interstate 40 and later picked up by a trucker with a black livestock trailer near the 142 Truck Wash about 100 miles south of Oklahoma City. The dog may still be with that trucker or she may have moved on in her mission to find Troy.

Friends say Troy has given up the will to live since he thinks his dog is probably dead and he wants to join her.

Little Girl, last seen near Ardmore, Okla., in late July, has brown on her face and head and a black “saddle” marking on her back along with some more brown. Anyone having information may contact Karen Helms in Dallas at 214-852-0669.
