SAN DIEGO – Trillium CNG announced it has developed a new version of its hydraulic intensifier compressor that will cut refueling time for CNG vehicles in half.

In the words of President Mary Boettcher, the new 7-inch HY-C is “the big sister” to the 5-inch HY-C that has been deployed in the field for more than 15 years.  The announcement was made at the ATA Management Conference & Exhibition.

“Our new unit is intended to reduce the amount of time that drivers spend refueling,” Boettcher said. “In addition, it unlocks the potential for future innovations that will make the CNG (compressed natural gas) refueling experience better, faster and more efficient.”

Another benefit is that the 7-inch compressor improves fueling times for multiple vehicles across multiple fueling lanes.

‘We’ve integrated all of the things we’ve learned from producing and operating the 5-inch unit into the 7-inch,” said Ted Calvin, vice president of manufacturing and supply chain. “This ensures that the unit has the best possible reliability and will continue to differentiate us from our competitors.”

Trillium CNG presently has 50 public-access fueling stations across the country and expects to open its 100th station in 2015.
