Transplace Acquires SCO Logistics

Technology and logistics company Transplace, Frisco, Texas, said it acquired SCO Logistics, a Philadelphia-based third-party logistics company, for an undisclosed sum.

SCO Logistics specializes in chemical industry logistics, a niche previously not served by Transplace, the firm said in a 5 statement.

“Bringing the SCO Logistics team onboard allows Transplace a significant opportunity to serve a new set of customers,” Tom Sanderson, Trans-place’s president and chief executive officer, the statement said.

Frank McGuigan, president and CEO of SCO Logistics, will remain with the combined company.

Transplace is owned by private equity firm CI Capital Partners, which purchased the business in 2009. Transplace generates about $800 million in annual revenue, according to the company.
