Trailer Floor Makers Offer Alternative Ways to Support, Handle Cargo

t a time when a recovering economy is expected to generate more business, the trucking industry and its shipper customers are seeing a number of innovations in the trailers and trailer floors that will carry the freight.

Manufacturers of trailers and their components say demand is on the rise and they have used trucking shows, industry publications and direct presentations to tell potential customers that they are making some of the most significant changes in years in how they build cargo boxes.

Wabash Chief Executive Officer William Greubel told analysts and reporters July 23 that “prices are beginning to firm” for trailers as overall demand continues to improve.
