TMW's Weisz: Industry's Concerns Are Drivers, Emissions Regs

LEVELAND — Tom Weisz, who recently relinquished his position as chief executive officer of trucking software provider TMW Systems Inc. but remained its chairman, said he will devote more time to developing new products.

Software aimed at two key industry problems — driver retention and engine emission regulations — are high on his list, as is a program to improve trucking company operations, Weisz said Nov. 7 at the TMW Systems 2005 User Group Conference here.

Weisz said the chronic shortage of qualified drivers is a challenge for the trucking industry and an opportunity to develop new products.
