Three More Pilot Flying J Employees Plead Guilty in Trucking Rebate Case

Three more Pilot Flying J employees have pleaded guilty in a scheme to defraud trucking companies out of rebates, the Tennessean newspaper reported.

One was a sales manager who helped allegedly teach others how to carry out the fraud, while another was secretly recorded by authorities, the newspaper reported. The third employee was an account representative based at Pilot Flying J’s corporate headquarters in Knoxville, Tenn.

The moves follow last month’s pleas by two Pilot Flying J employees, who pleaded guilty to fraud charges in connection with the federal government’s ongoing investigation into allegations the truck-stop chain shorted some trucking customers who participated in its fuel-rebate program.

Jay Stinnett, senior regional sales manager for Pilot who helped set up the training, faces up to 20 years in federal prison and a $150,000 fine and restitution, the Tennessean said.

Regional sales manager Kevin Clark faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Clark and Stinnett, along with account representative Holly Radford, all pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit mail fraud, the newspaper reported.
