Third Mexican Carrier Clears Preliminary U.S. Safety Review

A third Mexican carrier has passed preliminary safety review for operating in the United States under the two countries’ cross-border program, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration said Tuesday.

Moises Alvarez Perez, which does business as Distribuidora Marina El Pescador, passed FMCSA muster. Its FMCSA information shows it has one truck and one driver.

FMCSA published the notice in Tuesday’s Federal Register, which said that the carrier had just one driver and one vehicle submitted for approval.

It joins Grupo Behr de Baja California as carriers with pending U.S. operating authority.

Mexican carrier Transportes Olympic has received full FMCSA clearance for U.S. operating authority and last month had its first truck enter the United States under the cross-border trucking program.
