Cummins Says ’07 Engine Line Will be EPA-Compliant
Cummins Inc. said Monday that its on-highway engine product line for 2007 will be able to meet new U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and California Air Resources Board emissions standards.Separately, Cummins approved use of B5 biodiesel — a 5% biodiesel, 95% diesel mix — for use in its on- and off-highway engines.
Its product line will be certified and compliant for 2007 with only incremental improvements, the engine maker said.

TMC Technology Exhibit to Include 250 Exhibitors
The Technology and Maintenance Council’s transportation technology exhibition this week, being held in Tampa, Fla., will feature more than 250 exhibitors Tuesday through Friday this week in Tampa, Fla.TMC’s “Celebrating Excellence in Truck Technology” theme will include a historical truck display a presentation on the evolution of truck technology.
During the conference, Mack Truck Chief Executive Officer Paul Vikner will lead a presentation chronicling the evolution of truck design and maintenance from the 1950s to the present, and offer insights into future vehicle technology. Transport Topics
AirIq Alters Credit Pact With Its Bank
AirIq Inc., which provides wireless security technologies to the trucking industry, said it was changing the terms of a line of credit with the Royal Bank of Canada after the firm failed to satisfy part of the original agreement.AirIq, based in Ontario, Canada, said it was reducing the size of the credit line, which was originally C$10 million in May, to C$7.25 million. In addition, the company reached an agreement with the bank to lower “standby” fees that apply to undrawn amounts of the credit line.
The company, which has more than 100 employees, said it renegotiated terms of the agreement after it failed to provide the bank with certain financial data in a timely fashion.
An AirIq spokeswoman said the company is using the credit facility “to strengthen our financial position.” Tarun Reddy
Repair Info Database Tractor-Trailer.net Is Now Online
Technical information provider Mitchell 1 announced the availability of its Web-based heavy-duty vehicle service and repair information database, Tractor-Trailer.net, which includes service and repair information for all heavy-duty tractors, dry vans and reefers dating back to 1990.The company said the database is updated monthly and that the service requires no software installation.
It includes tractor, trailer and reefer service and repair information, including sub-circuit color wiring diagrams for more than 1,100 Class 7 and 8 tractors, 1,800 trailers and 200 reefers. Transport Topics
