Survey: Most Americans Support Limited Driver Hours

A majority of Americans are willing to support limited hours-of-service for truck drivers, according to a survey by the Insurance Research Council.

The study, which was released Thursday, said 56% of the people surveyed said they are willing to pay more money for shipping goods if truckers are limited to driving 12 hours per day.

Additionally, six out of ten reported seeing trucks operating in an unsafe manner.

In another road-related survey, IRC found that 91% of Americans believe using a cellular phone while driving increases the likelihood of accidents.
