Sunset Transportation, a third-party logistics company headquartered in St. Louis, opened a branch office and warehouse space in Laredo, Texas, according to an Oct. 2 news release.

The Texas location is a new strategy for Sunset, the company said, as it will offer U.S.-Mexican cross-border customs brokerage and logistics management services, including a secure and food grade-certified warehouse built in 2018.

Sunset said the Laredo space will provide full control and visibility to customers’ northbound and southbound shipments without outsourcing U.S. and Mexican customs clearance.

Sunset officials said other capabilities include:

• Multimodal brokerage

• Cross-docking

• Consolidation

• In-transit bonds

• Duty drawback programs

• Declarations

• Shipper-technology platform to track past, in-transit and postshipment performance indicators.

Sunset has seven branches and 35 agent offices across the United States. — Transport Topics
