St. Louis Fed President Says Economy is Strong

illiam Poole, president of the St. Louis Federal Reserve, said the U.S. economy is strong, though inflation concerns remain, Reuters reported Monday.

Poole cited strong business investment as a counterbalance to the slowing housing market, Reuters said.

However, Poole also told Reuters that inflation levels remain above his comfort range, saying he would prefer to take action unless levels declined over the medium-term.
