Schneider to Close Fueling, Maintenance Facilities in Wis., Ohio

Truckload carrier Schneider National will close fuel and maintenance centers in Wisconsin and Ohio, eliminating some jobs and relocating some employees, the Green Bay (Wis.) Press-Gazette reported.

The carrier has 24 operating centers around the country similar to those being closed, and three offices and one training facility in the Green Bay metro area, the paper reported.

The moves will cut about 50 jobs and relocate 80 workers, the Press-Gazette said. Schneider, which runs truckload and intermodal operations, has about 21,000 total employees.

The Ashwaubenon, Wisc., property, which Schneider has occupied for 30 years, will be sold, a Schneider spokeswoman told the Press-Gazette.

Schneider is ranked No. 9 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
