Roadrunner’s 2Q Profit Jumps

Roadrunner Transportation Systems’ second-quarter operating income jumped by about 50%, led by strong less-than-truckload growth.

Net income rose to $10.2 million, or 32 cents a share, from $7.4 million, or 24 cents, a year ago.

Revenue rose 47.8% to $262.5 million, Roadrunner said late Wednesday. Operating income jumped 48.7% to $18.6 million, a record.

LTL revenue rose 6.9% to $129.7 million, while truckload revenue jumped 61.6% to $111 million.



Its transportation management solutions segment’s revenue climbed 21.8% to $23.1 million.

Roadrunner is ranked No. 32 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
