Paccar to Launch Proprietary Axle for Construction and Vocational Segments

Paccar Inc. announced that it will introduce a new proprietary front axle for its Kenworth Truck Co. and Peterbilt Motors Co. brands in the third quarter, adding that the axle is designed for construction and vocational applications that support infrastructure investments.

“Paccar is pleased to introduce its front axle to enhance customer vehicle payload and complement the superior performance of our powertrain,” Paccar Vice President Landon Sproull said in a statement.

The axle is available with ratings of 20,000 or 22,000 pounds and uses a tapered kingpin roller bearing that “simplifies the design and delivers enhanced steering efficiency,” Sproull said.



Bellevue, Wash.-based Paccar also makes commercial vehicle engines and medium-duty trucks.
