Paccar is aiming for a 35% share of the North American heavy-duty truck market, set to be aided by tariffs and production plant flexibility, senior executive told analysts Feb. 10.

President Trump introduced 25% tariffs on U.S. imports of medium- and heavy-duty trucks and parts on Nov. 1 as he seeks to reorient trade flows, although the full details are yet to emerge.

Paccar is set to unveil two engine platforms ahead of the introduction of tighter Environmental Protection Agency nitrogen oxide emissions in 2027, senior executives said Feb. 10.

Industrywide U.S. and Canada Class 8 truck retail sales totaled 233,000 units in 2025, Paccar said, and are expected to range from 230,000 to 270,000 trucks in 2026.

PacLease reported continued growth in 2025, adding 17 U.S. franchise locations as the company said it outperformed much of the broader lease-and-rental market.

Bendix’s Intellipark electronic parking brake system will be made available for all Kenworth and Peterbilt Class 8 and medium-duty models, the Paccar subsidiaries said.

Kenworth and Peterbilt continue to build out their battery-electric tractor and truck portfolios, launching three new models each Dec. 9.

The DAF models were recognized for their modular design characteristics, which allow for a variety of battery and axle configurations that expand flexibility for owners.

As recently as September, Peterbilt was touting expanded manufacturing capacity at the factory, with the first 567 vocational Class 8 truck rolling off the production line Sept. 24.

Daimler Truck North America, Paccar, Volvo Group North America and International Motors argued that the CTP violates the Clean Air Act and the Supremacy Clause of the U.S. Constitution.
