Oshkosh Changes Name, Reports Lower 1Q Profit

Specialty truck maker Oshkosh Truck Corp. said its shareholders approved a name change to Oshkosh Corp., and the company separately reported its fiscal first-quarter profit declined.

“The new name more appropriately reflects the company’s diverse product lines,” Robert
Bohn, Oshkosh’s chairman and chief executive officer, said in a statement Tuesday.

The change will not affect the company’s stock ticker symbol, nor does it signal any changes in management or policies, Oshkosh said.

Separately, Oshkosh said its fiscal first-quarter profit for the period ended Dec. 31 fell to $37.3 million, or 50 cents a share, from $41.2 million, or 55 cents, for the same quarter a year earlier. Sales rose 49% to $1.5 billion.

Oshkosh reaffirmed its fiscal 2008 earnings guidance to $4.15 to $4.35 a share.
