Oil Tops $100 as Week’s Trading Begins

Oil moved past $100 a barrel early Tuesday after closing below that level late last week, Bloomberg reported.

Crude futures rose $1.70 to $100.40 per barrel as New York Mercantile Exchange trading opened, Bloomberg said.

Oil had closed below $100 on Thursday and Friday, finishing the week at a three-week low $98.70 per barrel.

The Nymex and U.S. stock markets were closed on Monday for the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday.



The Department of Energy will release its weekly survey of diesel and gasoline pump prices Tuesday afternoon in Washington, due to the federal holiday Monday.
