ODFL’s 2Q Profit Climbs

Less-than-truckload carrier Old Dominion Freight Line said Thursday its second-quarter profit rose 4% to $22.5 million or 60 cents a share, from $21.6 million or 58 cents last year.

Revenue rose 9% to $359.6 million, the company said in a statement.

For the quarter, the company had projected it would earn 53 to 56 cents per share. ODFL affirmed its full-year guidance to earn $2 to $2.05 per share.

Old Dominion Freight Line is ranked No. 20 on the 2007 Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
