Northern Va. Businesses, Organizations Push for Increased Transportation Funding

eeking to ease heavy congestion on Northern Virginia roads, 21 organizations and businesses have signed a resolution urging the Northern Virginia General Assembly delegation to find new transportation funding, the Leesburg Today newspaper reported Tuesday.

The resolution calls for a plan that will deliver a minimum of $400 million in yearly transportation funds to Northern Virginia, the Leesburg Today said.

Among the groups that signed the resolution are the Loudoun Chamber of Commerce, the Dulles Area Transportation Association, the Fairfax Chamber of Commerce and the Committee for Dulles, according to the Leesburg Today.



The Virginia General Assembly is scheduled to meet Sep. 27 in Richmond for a special three-day session, during which it will discuss transportation issues, the Leesburg Today reported.
