The measure had earlier been passed by the Senate in a 45-1 vote, but the House moved the bill back to committee, citing safety concerns, the News and Observer reported.

Separately, a bill passed this week by the General Assembly would waive commercial driver license requirements for military veterans, the Greensboro-based Greater Triad Business Journal reported.

Trucking advocates said that legislation will create jobs for veterans who are transitioning to civilian life, the Business Journal reported.
