am writing in response to the letter about unfair hazmat laws targeting American truckers as part of the problem that occurred 9/11, even though no trucks were involved.

I drive for a major carrier in New Jersey. I feel the money we have to pay for all this new fingerprinting and background checks should be the company’s responsibility. On top of those costs, we have to lose a day’s pay to get fingerprinted and a day to get the license.

I would like to know if there is someone I can write to who would respond on this issue? I can get a lot of signatures from other drivers.

If you have any feedback, please let me know.
