Self-driving truck technology company Kodiak Robotics Inc. announced a deal with one of South Korea’s largest conglomerates to bring Kodiak Driver to the Asia-Pacific markets.

Kodiak will partner with SK Inc., a holding company of SK Group — which has more than 120 operating companies — to sell and distribute Kodiak’s self-driving technology. In addition, the companies will work together to provide fleet management services for customers in Asia, according to the Mountain View, Calif.-based company.

“SK has an impressive list of companies that enables and fast tracks our Asian expansion,” Kodiak founder and CEO Don Burnette said in a release. “Our technology paired with SK’s deep relationships with Asia’s leading logistics and technology partners offers Kodiak a unique opportunity to expand our global footprint and commercialize the Kodiak Driver across the Asia-Pacific region.” — Transport Topics
