July Leading Economic Indicators Gain 0.4%

An index of leading economic indicators improved in July, the New York-based Conference Board said Monday.

The 0.4% gain followed a 0.3% downturn in June, the group said in its monthly report.

The gain matched economists’ forecasts, Bloomberg reported.

The LEI is closely watched by trucking companies because it forecasts business activity for the next three to six months.
