Jobless Claims Jump 25,000 for Week

Initial jobless claims jumped 25,000 last week, the Labor Department said Thursday.

Claims rose to 384,000 for the week ended Saturday, more than economists’ forecasts of an increase to 370,000, Bloomberg reported.

The four-week moving average, a less volatile measure, rose to 371,500, from 369,000.
