J.B. Hunt Reports Record Revenue, Earnings for 2Q
ruckload carrier J.B. Hunt Transport Services reported Tuesday that it earned a record $55.3 million or 36 cents a share, up from $54.6 million or 33 cents a year ago.
img src="/sites/default/files/images/articles/jbhunt.gif" width=120 align=right>Revenue rose 10% to a record $838 million, the company said. Operating income rose to $95 million from $93 million a year earlier.
The revenue rise was due primarily to an incrase in fleet size to 11,993 trucks in the second quarter, up from 11,597 a year earlier, J.B. Hunt said.
ntermodal segment revenue jumped 14% to $353 million, while intermodal operating income gained 13% to $43.4 million.
he company’s dedicated contract services segment’s revenue 11% to $232 million, while operating income for that segment fell 4% to $25.9 million.
