Initial Jobless Claims Fall for Week

Initial jobless claims fell by 41,000 last week, the Labor Department said Wednesday.

Claims increased to 410,000 for the week ended Saturday from an upwardly revised 451,000, Labor said.

The initial claims figure matched economists’ forecasts, Bloomberg reported.

The four-week moving average, a less-volatile measure, rose to 396,250 last week from 386,750.

Continuing jobless claims for the previous week ended Nov. 17 climbed by 30,000 to 3.34 million.
