Hub Group’s 4Q Earnings Slide

Logistics, intermodal and brokerage firm Hub Group’s fourth-quarter profit fell to $10 million, or 26 cents a share, from $14.2 million, or 38 cents, a year ago.

Revenue fell 5% to $408 million, the company said in a statement late Thursday.

Intermodal revenue fell 7% to $285 million, which was attributable to a 7% decrease for price, a 6% decrease for fuel that was partially offset by 6% higher volume.

Truck brokerage revenue fell 4% to $79 million, while logistics revenue gained 2% to $44 million.



For the full year, Hub Group earned $34.3 million, or 91 cents a share, down from $59.2 million or $1.58 in 2008. Revenue fell to $1.5 billion, from $1.9 billion.
