Heartland Express' Income and Revenue Rise for 4Q, Year

ruckload carrier Heartland Express said Wednesday that its fourth-quarter income rose to $21.6 million or 29 cents a share, from $16.6 million or 22 cents in the previous fourth quarter.

img src="/sites/default/files/images/articles/heartlandexpresslogo.gif" width=92 align=right>Heartland’s operating revenue rose 17.3% to $140.1 million, the company said in a statement.

For the full year, Heartland earned $71.9 million or 97 cents a share, up from $62.4 million or 83 cents in 2004. Revenue rose 14.6% to $523.8 million.

The carrier reported an operating ratio of 77.6% for the quarter and 80.1% for the full year.
