LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Technology startup HaulHound has added a free digital freight-matching feature to its online platform and mobile app for truck drivers.

The new service, available at no cost, is designed to help carriers reduce deadhead by finding appropriate loads and avoiding lost time from waiting for shipper responses.

Drivers enter their specifications and immediately receive a list of loads available to fill their empty trucks.

“We like to think of ourselves as the Google or search engine for people to look for logistics,” Andrew Kim, the company’s president, said at a March 24 press conference here at the Mid-America Trucking Show.

In addition, HaulHound introduced quick pay options in partnership with Express Freight Finance and launched lane alerts to notify shippers when a driver is available to move a load at a predetermined cost. The company also added compatibility with more equipment types and special load capabilities.
