Guillaume Giroudon to Lead Operations at Mack’s LVO Plant
Longtime Volvo Group Executive Replaces Gunnar Brunius
Staff Reporter
Key Takeaways:
- Giroudon, a Volvo Group veteran since 2004, most recently served as vice president of logistics for Volvo Group North America, overseeing supplier deliveries to 10 facilities.
- The leadership change comes as Mack ramps up production of its new Pioneer and overhauled Anthem trucks, key to Volvo Group’s goal of a 25% North American heavy-duty market share by 2030.
Guillaume Giroudon will become general manager of Mack Trucks’ Lehigh Valley Operations manufacturing plant in Macungie, Pa., the Volvo Group division said.
Giroudon replaces Gunnar Brunius, who was promoted to Volvo Group head of digital manufacturing.
A native of France, Giroudon’s last position was vice president of logistics for Volvo Group North America. In this position, Giroudon led a team of 100 employees responsible for managing deliveries from about 1,000 domestic and international suppliers to 10 production facilities and distribution centers.
Giroudon joined Volvo Group in 2004 as the project coordinator for the electrical purchasing department.
LVO is the assembly plant for all of Mack’s Class 8 trucks, including its flagship on-highway tractor, the Pioneer, and revamped regional-haul tractor, the Anthem. The facility underwent a $405 million overhaul to accommodate production of the Pioneer, Anthem and the other trucks in the Mack portfolio.

The Pioneer was launched in April as the truck brand attempts to refashion its standing in the on-highway market. Volvo Group CEO Martin Lundstedt in 2024 termed the longhaul, on-highway segment of the North American truck market “in reality, an almost absent type of segment for Mack.”
Mack began production of the Pioneer tractor in Macungie in August. Serial production of the overhauled Anthem began Jan. 13. About 80% to 90% of the overhauled Anthem shares components with the Pioneer.
Volvo Group is aiming for a 25% North American heavy-duty truck market share by 2030 as a result of the Pioneer’s introduction and overhauls for the Anthem and Volvo Trucks North America’s VNL and VNR models.
