Greyhound to Carry Mexican Parcels

The old Greyhound slogan of “Leave the Driving to Us” has been revised for shippers as the nation’s largest intercity bus carrier wants businesses to leave the package delivery to its drivers.

The bus company is working with Multipack, a package carrier in Mexico, to begin delivering packages between the two countries starting Dec. 1. Deliveries are promised within three days “at prices far below rates charged by most competitor,” according to Greyhound.

Customers can expect to pay $15 to ship a package of up to five pounds, the company said.

In the first phase of the program, southbound shipments will only be available from five Texas cities — Dallas, Austin, Houston, San Antonio and Laredo. Shipments from Mexico will be available from all points in Mexico to all points in the Greyhound system, according to Greyhound.
