Transportation company Greatwide Logistics Services said it has appointed John Tague its new CEO.

Tague succeeds Leo Suggs, who is retiring from the CEO position but will continue to serve as chairman of Greatwide, the company said.

Tague, 49, formerly served as president of United Airlines. He also held other leadership positions, including chief operating officer and chief revenue officer, during his eight years at the airline company.

Suggs, 71, joined Greatwide as executive chairman in 2009 and became CEO a year later. His experience in the transportation and logistics business spans over 50 years, especially in the less-than-truckload sector.

Dallas-based Greatwide provides dedicated contract carriage, freight brokerage, warehousing and distribution, and truckload transportation management.

Greatwide is ranked No. 21 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers, and No. 34 on the TT Logistics 50 listing of North American logistics firms.
