Grand Jury Reportedly Investigating Pilot Flying J

A federal grand jury is investigating Pilot Flying J owner Jimmy Haslam for allegations of fuel rebate fraud, a Cleveland television station reported.

A grand jury has been hearing witness testimony connected to an alleged scheme to reduce rebate check amounts to some of Pilot’s trucking company customers, WEWS reported on its website.

According to the station, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Tennessee neither confirmed nor denied any activity regarding a grand jury, saying it had no comment.

Last month, three Pilot Flying J employees pleaded guilty in a scheme to defraud trucking companies out of rebates, the latest in the ongoing investigation of the truck-stop operator.
