Gasoline Drops 9¢ in Past Two Weeks to $2.83 a Gallon

Regular gasoline’s national average price fell 9 cents in the past two weeks to $2.83 a gallon, according to the latest Lundberg Survey of fuel prices released Sunday.

Crude oil prices have plunged more than $16 — about 20% — in the past two weeks and analyst Trilby Lundberg told CNN Sunday that more pump-price declines could follow.

Oil fell 76 cents Friday to close the week at $70.04 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, Bloomberg reported.

The highest gas average in the continental United States was San Francisco, at $3.10 per gallon, while the lowest was in Jackson, Miss., at $2.62.



The Department of Energy will release its weekly survey of diesel and gasoline prices Monday afternoon in Washington.
