Gasoline Average Falls 5.1¢, Lundberg Says

Gasoline prices fell 5.1 cents in the past two weeks to $2.591 per gallon, according to latest Lundberg Survey of fuel prices released Sunday.

Mid-grade averaged $2.72 and premium averaged $2.84, analyst Trilby Lundberg said in her twice-monthly survey, which was conducted Friday.

The lowest price was in St. Louis, at $2.26, while Anchorage, Alaska, had the highest, at $3.27.

Motor fuel inventories rose 2.07 million barrels last week to 207.2 million, the Energy Department said Thursday. Demand fell 2.1% from the prior week.
